Announcement from the President of FoodMicro2020 concerning congress status in face of COVID-19

Last update, April 7th, 2020

Dear colleagues, dear friends,

As hosts of the FOODMICRO 2020 (September 7-10, 2020, Athens, Greece), the last four years, we have been working tirelessly to welcome you all in Greece and ensure a successful and productive Conference.
Unfortunately, the global situation with the spread of COVID19, which is still evolving and is a source of great concern to us all, in both personal and professional life, took us by surprise.
More than a month now, we have been dealing with the dilemma of postponing the Conference. At this stage, however, we decided to give the Conference a deep breath of life.
We have extended the Abstract Submission deadline until May 31, 2020 and the Early Registration deadline until June 30.
We do hope that the situation will improve around the globe soon and allow us all, no matter the world niche we come from, to meet next September in Athens and interact united, stronger, cheerful and safe as never before.
We will keep you continuously updated and inform you in time about the next steps.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I want to wish you, your families and your beloved ones well, and thank you for your continued support and cooperation in these challenging times.

WELCOME LETTER

Dear Colleagues,

It will be a unique honor and pleasure to host FoodMicro 2020 in Athens, Greece.
The conference will be accommodated in facilities of outstanding architectural and functional quality in the Center of Athens, in close proximity to hotel accommodations.

I am confident that the aura of the Hellenic millennia – old intellectual heritage together with the Next Generation Challenges in Food Microbiology , will have a positive impact on the enthusiasm of the delegates’ participation and the productivity and success of the Symposium.

The opportunities to explore the rich heritage of our historic city, in which the foundations of the most cherished principles of our western civilization were born 2500 years ago, are truly limitless. We look forward to welcoming you all in Athens, September 2020!!!
