Danilo Ercolini is Full Professor of Microbiology at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, University of Naples Federico II, Italy. He got a PhD in Food Science in 2003. Marie Curie Fellowship holder at the University of Nottingham, UK in 2001. The scientific activity is focused on microbial ecology. He has a long-term expertise in food microbiology and is recently involved in several research projects in the field of gut microbiome, looking at the impact of diet on microbiome structure and functions. Author of more than 150 publications in peer reviewed journals with >8,000 citations, H-index is 50. He is the coordinator of the Task Force on Microbiome studies of the University of Naples Federico II, www.tfm.unina.it.
